With a BA in English Literature, I am very experienced in creative writing and reading comprehension. I have taught in the Corcoran College of Art and thrive best when sharing my knowledge with my students. I have a passion for teaching and love when my students learn and gain the confidence they need to excel. Having enriched both my children's elementary education, I am proud to say that they are well advanced in the language arts as well as math relative to their peers. I also have an MS in Communication Design from Pratt Institute, N.Y., N.Y. I've worked in Foote, Cone and Belding Advertising Agency in Europe and I've also owned and operated my own Graphic Design company in N.Y, N.Y. I've also art directed numerous branding launches for companies in Washington D.C., including Congressional Quarterly and Ogilvy. My clients range from conservative Washington D. C. firms to Las Vegas Casinos. I am also a professional artist/painter and I specialize in portraiture and neo-expressionist style themed painting. Each project answers a creative challenge. I love what I do.

Hobbies
Besides tutoring and teaching others, I have taught my own children how to read. My kindergartener Sophie, reads on a 2nd grade level and my 4th grader Andrew is reading books off the 7th and 8th grade mensa list. I love to teach young children because I feel that they are like pure sponges, ready to soak up any and all knowledge. It is very rewarding for me when children experience the "aha moment" of learning and their confidence improves. I am also a freelance graphic designer that specializes in logos and brand identity and I also paint traditionally.
